But you already know this.
You are not alone if you have done virtually nothing to get your household ready. Just look at these statistics from the 2020 National Household Survey conducted by FEMA:
14% of the 5,000 surveyed have not prepared but intend to prepare in the next year.
26% have not prepared but intend to prepare in the next six months.
9% have not prepared and do not intend to prepare in the next year.
However,
15% have been prepared for the last year.
36% have been preparing for more than a year.
